Why is your chocolate cookie different?
Unlike most chocolate chip cookies where you can eat the whole box and regret it, we specifically made our cookies to satisfy that sweet-tooth with just one cookie. They’re not overly rich, but they squash the craving as a satisfying dessert. Don’t misunderstand though, if you wait about 30 minutes, you find them difficult to resist.
What does it taste like?
The Chocolate Chip Cookies are most obvious chocolaty. We use a slightly less sweetened chocolate to avoid being overpowering. As with most of our treats, these cookies are sweet but not overly sweet. They’re chocolaty but they split the line on milk vs cocoa flavor. The smell is absolute heaven.
When the first bite is taken, a splash of flavors will have you guessing, but all at once, the chocolate pops! After a couple of bites, there’s a hint of something else, but it’s not obvious. “What am I tasting?”, is what most people have asked. Well, we can only tell you that it’s a secret and that’s why the cookies taste do darned delicious. Just like our Maple Sprinkle Cookies, everything is working in harmony without competition to maintain a wonderful balance. This cookie looks and feels slightly dry to the touch, but it isn’t. If you could believe it, this cookie is also a moist cookie that has a firm but soft outer shell. The chocolate is scattered well through the cookie as some of them break the surface, revealing what is hidden inside.
This cookie is a classic indeed, but it’s recipe is not. We spent a lot of time iterating on ingredients and quantities to hit a home run. What we ended up with is a cookie that satisfies a dessert craving with a single cookie; however, it’s a cookie that will have you eating several over the course of a day. This cookie will disappear rapidly in a group, be warned!
How big are they?
- Our cookies have to be uniform in size

- Our cookies have to be soft, yet firm
Like all of the other cookies, they’re about three-to-four inches in diameter, usually leaning on four inches. Our cookies are also uniformly about a half inch thick.
We have discovered the best dough prep–it’s a legitimate process–to produce the same size cookies through the baking and setting process. The outsides of the cookies are a beautiful light golden color while the insides are baked but retain that soft and moist texture. Our cookies all have a subtle crack followed by them softly tearing; yum!!! Did we mention that we are cookie-OCD?
