What is a Maple Sprinkle Cookie?
A delicious accident that’s waiting to capture your attention, to put it simply. This one is a bit more difficult to describe but if you can imagine a sugar cookie meets sprinkles meets breakfast maple, then you’re getting the idea.
We make our own cookie recipes because it’s something that we like to do. In the process, we stumbled upon this scrumptious little cookie. This was supposed to be one of our experiment cookies for a comparison but the cookie vanished rapidly. We thought that was odd since cookies don’t normally walk away, so we made more but the darned things seemingly evaporated again. Unfortunately everybody was supposed to be critiquing cookies, but this task flopped when everybody started diving-in for more; it was like two teams fighting over a ball.
Hmmm, maybe we’re onto something here.
What does it taste like?
Well, aside from the obvious maple flavor, this is a cookie that isn’t. Wait, what? Well, every flavor that you describe is, but also isn’t quite as you would describe it. The flavor is this, but not quite, and it’s that, but also not quite. The Maple Sprinkle Cookies are sweet but not overly sweet. The sprinkles help to pull back the flavor a little bit so that everything is balanced. Seriously, you just have to taste one.
When the first bite is taken, the maple comes on quickly, much the same as a peanut butter cookie would, but the flavor is smooth. After a couple of bites, a hint of salt rolls onto the pallet, but ever so faintly. Even with the maple flavoring, everything is working in harmony without competition to maintain a wonderful balance. This cookie is like a sugar cookie that’s not too sugary. Or to the touch, a slightly dry cookie that’s not actually dry. If you could believe it, also a moist cookie that has a firm but soft outer shell. Again, then rainbow sprinkles that aren’t bitter and not crunchy, but still present. It’s balanced like it wasn’t actually an accident; wait… we totally planned it.
How big are they?
- Our cookies have to be uniform in size
- Our cookies have to be uniform in thickness
- Our cookies have to be pretty
- Our cookies cannot be dry and feel stale.
- Our cookies have to be soft, yet firm
Like all of the other cookies, they’re about three-to-four inches in diameter, usually leaning on four inches. Our cookies are also uniformly about a half inch thick.
We have discovered the best dough prep–it’s a legitimate process–to produce the same size cookies through the baking and setting process. The outsides of the cookies are a beautiful light golden color while the insides are baked but retain that soft and moist texture. Our cookies all have a subtle crack followed by them softly tearing; yum!!! Did we mention that we are cookie-OCD?
What quantities are they available in?
We sell this cookie either by the dozen or individually.
