Are your cinnamon rolls sourdough also?
Nope! Technically, sourdough is a bread and a cinnamon roll is a pastry.
What’s the difference?
It comes down to the composition of the dough. Our sourdough products have minimal ingredients, including live starter yeast. Pastry dough is much thinner and lighter. You may find that there is a shortlist of overlapping ingredients between bread dough and pastry dough; however, there’s an addition of dairy and fat-based products. Additionally, pastries often use different types of yeast and may contain sweet or savory flavors (spices, like cinnamon for example). Moreover, there’s the addition of sugars and sometimes a frosting over the baked pastry too.
Think of it like this. Sourdough is delicious and very healthy for your digestion. Pastries are also delicious, much sweeter, and less healthy in comparison to sourdough, but oh boy are they divine!
They’re sublime!
Aren’t all Cinnamon Rolls are the same?
Absolutely NOT!
- We perfected our dough
- We perfected the cinnamon flavoring.
- We perfected the frosting flavor
- We perfected the flavor additionally with all things combined.
- We re-adjusted our dough for texture, strength, softness, and flavor.
- We peddled iteration after iteration, seeking feedback; it was work!
If our customers had any idea regarding how many versions of rolls we made to dial the flavors in correctly, they’d realize that not all rolls are equal. Our Cinnamon Rolls stay soft even when they are cold. Our Cinnamon Rolls keep their flavor cold or warm, but of course we always recommend them warm. They’re made with fresh ingredients and we do not add preservatives. Don’t worry, they will be gobbled up before they ever have time to expire; just like our bread, you’ll only find the bottom of an empty pan if you blink.
We ate the whole batch before we arrived at home, do you have more?
If we had a dollar for every instance that we heard this, it would be hundreds of dollars.
What’s the quantity?
We sell these rolls in quantities of four. Yep, four. Don’t be mislead though, they’re huge!
What size are they?
Four rolls require a nine-to-ten inch box for just four rolls. They can be anywhere from two and half inches to four inches tall by they time they have frosting. These are not small rolls and they are amazingly delicious.
Can you describe the flavor?
Our Cinnamon Rolls have both a sweet and savory flavor. We worked hard to balance the flavor so that they weren’t overly sweet, while still satisfying the sweetness craving (they are sweet). We’ve had rolls where they are just overly sugary and you can feel the granules of the sugar, but not our rolls. There’s also that savory Cinnamon and spice flavor which works well with the frosting so that the combination offsets one-another. Then there’s the dough, which has some gems within that also work as a trio to enhance the overall flavor. As if that wasn’t enough, there is a discernible cream cheese flavor in the frosting that will help to push this Cinnamon Roll over the edge. The bread is soft and the sugars and spices pop without overpowering each other. The cream cheese surfaces and hides again, weaving between the flavor of cinnamon and sweetness, while the warmth causes the frosting to melt and flow between the wrapped bread. There’s a subtle crunch on the cinnamon mixture that’s well balanced with the smooth creaminess of the frosting and the tender bread. We assure you, this isn’t something that you can find locally or even reproduce without a lot of effort.
