The Classic Sourdough Loaf is a staple in many cultures. This bread has very few ingredients but don’t be fooled by the simplicity. From start to finish, this product takes two days to complete.
- The dough requires live starter, to which the topic of maintaining the starter is both quirky and has a learning curve; it’s a different subject entirely.
- The dough itself requires hand-kneading after all of the ingredients are precisely measured and mixed. The process has several stages with timed intervals so there’s not much that you can do in order to speedily move through the dough preparation
We have baked three sizes of this bread:
- Large: this is great for family dinners, sourdough lovers, or people who find that they just cannot get enough bread.
- Medium: this size is good for a single meal or one person that enjoy’s eating bread.
- Small: this size is less common, but it’s perfect for making soup bowls! Keep in mind that you’ll have to carve and prep the bread so that your battleship doesn’t sink before you finish dinner.
Our most popular breads are the large and medium sizes. If you like sourdough, you might want to order a large. We have heard funny stories of bread being devoured on the ride home or some spouses hiding the bread from each other.
It suffices to say that Classic Sourdough Loaves are a labor of love and are loved by many.
